Oocyte cryopreservation or “egg freezing” is currently considered experimental, but is an advancing technology with promising results. Ideal candidates for egg freezing are: unmarried women who desire fertility preservation, women who are planning to undergo cancer treatments, and women who have ethical issues with having excess embryos cryopreserved.
